Program

The research-oriented Elite Master’s Program “Human Biology – Principles of Health and Disease” is taught in English to a maximum of 30 highly motivated and engaged students. It offers a state-of-the-art education at a modern research location in a wide variety of biomedical core subjects, such as “Cell Biology, Stem Cells and Epigenetics”, “Molecular Microbiology and Infection Biology”, “Molecular Oncology”, “Neurosciences” and “Cardiovascular and Lung Research”. The curriculum offers numerous compulsory, elective modules and transferable-skill courses. The students will be educated and supported by a mentoring program with excellent, experienced and internationally-known professors to become outstanding researchers.

In addition to the Faculties of Biology and Medicine at LMU, students will have the possibility to carry out a research project with one of our numerous collaboration partners at home and abroad (including both research institutes and industry).

Students will not have to pay tuition fees for our program. Education in Germany is considered a public good—a human right accessible to everyone. There is, however, a semester fee of 152,30 € for each student, which comprises a student services contribution (75,00 €) and a ticket for public transport (77,30 €).

Please read more about the special arrangement of the semester ticket in the summer semester 2023.
